Meet the Director

Ms. Jenn

I have a degree from Loyola University in elementary education.  I have taught environmental science from pre-k to adult for the last 30 years.  This is my fifthyear at da Vinci and my fourth year as camp director.

I am a da Vinci alumni parent.

I started working as a camp counselor at 15.  Over the past thirty years, I have worked as a sleep-away counselor, directed day camps, and managed logistics for overnight traveling camps.  I was the director of Camp Lake James, a family camp in North Carolina.  I have also worked as a naturalist, high/low ropes facilitator, raft guide and kayaking instructor.

My words to describe Camp da Vinci would be: science, fun times outdoors, nurturing.  Camp should be about having fun and building memories, and still be an extension of learning.

Summer is a special time when children should get dirty, wet and messy and learn to experiment, not just in science, but in how they play and interact and view their world.
