EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Do you believe in the learning potential of the
young child? Do you think learning is fun? Are you interested
in learning new skills and information on early brain
development and how it relates to classroom instruction?
This might be the right place for YOU to work.
At the present time, we do not know what positions
might be available for the 2007/08 school year. If
this looks like your kind of place, you are encouraged
to call us at 214-373-9504.
Qualifications: A degree in a field related to
education or child development. This could include special
ed., speech pathology, psychology, or similarly related
field of study. Exceptional experience will be considered
with an unrelated degree.
Hours: All of our preschool classes are half-day
only. The position is for Monday through Friday from
8:30 a.m. 12:45 p.m. The da Vinci School operates
from September through mid-May. Opportunities exist
for summer work in June and July.
Class size: We maintain a very workable teacher/student
ratio at The da Vinci School so you have the time to
truly get to know each one of your students. The toddlers
attend 2 or 3 mornings per week. There are 5 children in the toddler class; 6 or 7 children in the 2 1/2 to
3 year old class. The 3 year olds attend 3 or 5 mornings per week. There are
8 children in the class at this age level. Our pre-k students attend 5
mornings per week. Our pre-K class has 9 or 10 children. Kindergarten is 5
full days from 8:45 - 2:15. The kindergarten class has a maximum of 14 - 15
children.
Why Da Vinci? This is a fun and supportive environment
in which to work. The school is small and we have an
extraordinary program for the teacher who is creative
and likes to make a difference in the lives of their
students. Parents are extremely supportive and very
involved in their childs education. Teachers always
comment that when working here they learn as much as
the children!
If you are interested in further information, please
contact Mary Ann Greene at (214)373-9504. We plan on
making hiring decisions for next fall during the spring
school year if at all possible. If you are interested
for future years, please feel free to contact us, as
we are happy to look at future possibilities.
NOTE: We will also consider hiring experienced
people on a temporary basis for our summer program.
Call The da Vinci School at (214) 373-9504 for information.
About our teachers
The da Vinci School employs eight part-time teachers,
one full-time (kindergarten) teacher, one part-time
administrative assistant and two full-time administrators.
Teachers at The da Vinci School are degreed in education
or a related fieldpsychology, speech pathology,
etc. Consideration is given to exceptional experience
in early childhood education.
The da Vinci School utilizes an extensive interviewing
and screening process when we are selecting new staff
for the school. We strive to create an environment that
appeals not only to the children but also to the teachers.
We strongly believe that a school is only as good as
the teachers we hire. The staff has a great deal of
support from both the parents and the administration.
We provide all new staff, regardless of background,
with extensive development seminars so they understand
how brain growth, gross motor development and learning
all interact. Since most teachers have had poor science
education backgrounds, we also coach new teachers on
how they can comfortably integrate the science focus
into their classes.
If you are interested in possibly being employed by
The da Vinci School, please feel free to contact the
school at any time during the year. We generally begin
interviews for the following school year in early spring,
but this process can extend into the summer. We accept
applications year around for consideration during our
next hiring cycle.

ExxonMobil Corporation, headquartered in Dallas, makes
75 grants available each summer to non-profit organizations
to employ college students. Grants are competitive with
awards going to approximately 50% of the organizations
who apply. The purpose is to give the college student
valuable employment experience while encouraging them
to look to the non-profit sector as a career option.
The da Vinci School has been the proud recipient of
an ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs program grant
for 13 out of the last 15 years it has been offered.
We have had wonderful experiences with the interns

has walked away with a whole new body of firsthand
knowledge that they did not possess previously.
