The
da Vinci School is a nonprofit organization founded
in 1987. We operate primarily from the tuition and fees
collected each year, although our programs and resources
are greatly expanded by donations received from parents
and friends of the school.
The da Vinci School serves families with children from
eighteen months through the kindergarten and primer
level. At The da Vinci School, we believe that young
children are very capable learners. The primary vision
of the school is for children to love learning. Our
mission is to help establish basic skills through teaching
methods that enhance a childs joy in learning,
ability to learn, and interest in learning (a broad
range of subject areas) while fostering the childs
self-confidence and self-image. See details on our
mission.
We are non-denominational and approach holidays of a
religious nature from a cultural perspective.
We encourage diversity in the school population and
we like to expose the children to a wide range of cultural
traditions.
The teachers at The da Vinci School are carefully screened
and selected for their abilities to nurture as well
as stimulate and educate. They are all degreed in some
field related to education or child development, and
are additionally trained by the school in the areas
of brain and sensory motor development. We ask that
teachers only accept employment if they can commit to
a school year so the children have a stable, consistent
teacher.
